Default Random C3 (?)

1.) I have cleaned up the drive train, u-joints are getting put in next week. Now that all the dirt, rust and grime from the last 48 years is off, can I spray on a clear coat to preserve/protect?

2.) When the tranny came back, the torque converter was painted glossy hunter green, surely that is not an accurate color?

3.). I royally screwed up the pretty gold actuator covers by getting phospho over spray on them when prepping the chassis. Is there any way to restore the color, or should I just buy a new cover. They were working great before all the parts were pulled off, just aesthetically hideous now.

As always, thanks in advance for your input.

Hi c1n,
Yes, a clear finish of some type will give some rust protection to chassis /running gear parts that are 'natural'. There are both paints and other metal protectants that people use.
I'm not sure what you're referring to as actuator "covers'.
If you 're referring to the wiper door and headlight actuators themselves they can be re-plated or painted to mimic the original plating.
Regards,
Alan
