Default Block number

A friend has a '68 with what he was told is a replacement block, 350 ci. The number stamped on the blocks pad is MHO 2800. How can we find out what this block is from?

Hi b,
The information you've given sounds like perhaps a 'rebuilders stamp'?
If the original stamped information from the pad is gone you won't be able to tell what the block is 'from'.
The casting number and casting date on the block will be your only source of information concerning what the block is.
Regards,
Alan

350 was not available in 1968.

The only other way to check is the casting numbers and the date stamped on the left rear top of the block- behind left head/intake.
