Windshield Wiper Switch Problems with High Speed
My wipers work great EXCEPT usually no high speed. Sometimes it might work. I replaced the switch and same thing. It's like the switch won't go far enough to the right to turn on the high speed. I tried the switch when not in the car and it seemed to click into the high slot but once in--maybe yes but mostly no. Has anyone else had problems getting the switch to work on high or it is poor quality replacement switches. I still have the 1971 original one and it seems to go to the second position but not so much once installed. Has anyone taken the switch apart? Any suggestions appreciated.

Dont get me started on those crappy chinese switches, Im trying to enjoy my coffee.
If the original works when its not install, but doesnt when it is, I would check to see if the wiring harness is hitting something when you install it in the console, or does it do it when you put the switch in the console trim but not installed into the console. Maybe the console trim isnt original to the year? You could always dremel a little off the switch arm or a little off the console trim or both.
