Thanks. I've noticed my insulation is starting to fray. I'm sure it's not a fire hazard (but please correct me if wrong). Ultimately the fraying part is coming out of the metal shields, so I'm wondering if instead of replacing, I can use some sort of insulation tape to reinforce?

I could not tolerate any of that undercar insulation......its going to collect dirt, dust.....can't clean any of it. I prefer the undercar to be exposed so I can keep it clean and waxed. Do it every winter. My previous post above detailed what I did to have a car with ZERO transfer to inside of car......proven on 95 degree summer days....and none of it required ANY exterior or undercar insulation on the body or the exposed stainless steel headers. Its all on the inside out of siight. As others have stated,....the first and biggest step is to have the important factory seals in place.
