Hi Folks,

Have a question on the trip odometer, how do you reset. I see it underneath the steering wheel but it won't move. Do you pull down, push up or spin it to rest it? I have a 71 vette.

You push up and turn it. I think clockwise. Been a while since I've reset mine.

If you turn it one way, it'll increase the numbers, and if you turn it the other way it'll decrease them and should be back at 0 in a few turns.

Everyone is correct.
If you turn it clockwise I think,? it turns the tenths one tenth at a time.
You'll be dead before you zero it out.
If you go the other way it will eventually synch to all zeros and you stop when they line up in the odometer window.
That's how my 68 works and I believe it is functioning correctly.
Push up and turn.
Pull down you end up with a **** in your hand.

The flex-cable could be "gummed up or dry/not engaging all the way...it unscrews from the speedometer case for cleaning......or......

The worm gears #4 #5 could be badly worn........

Ok, Tony can fix anything... he's some sort of C3 surgeon. I watched him perform his magic on a 68 lock/key mechanism some time ago. Time for you to ditch the "Rookie" name Tony ;-)
