Hi O,
The source for the vacuum that operates the heater/defroster/a/c controller is generally a small vacuum line that runs off a 'T' in the vacuum supply for wiper door in 68-72 cars or the headlight doors in later cars.
You don't say what year your car is?
Here's an example from 71.
Regards,
Alan
The 'T' connection near the right side hood latch on the cowl.
The small hose passing through the firewall on it's way to the controller in the shifter console.
Thanks guys. Mine is a 73. I had my headlights and ac control connect to a "T" fitting on the back of the manifold but the operation was so slow. Now i only have the headlights on the manifold vacuum and they pop up quickly. I connected my ac control to a vacuum port by the choke break on the carb. My vents work quickly also. I was concerned about the vent not working when driving around but so far I'm only using heater settings and its been good.
