I am on way of disambling my 74 and doing so I found a switch on the right kickpanel on the drivers side. Seems like it has a 2 way function with 0 in the middle. Anyone have any idea what this is for or what it controls?

If it is to the right of your right leg, it controls the rear window defogger fan. I have one on my 73 except it is a chrome **** (correct for a 73) instead of a toggle switch.

Hmm have not found any fan just the astro vents in the rear........ and they are vacuumpowered. And it is a kind of 3 way switch big black and looking at the back of the panel it seems original.

To help clarify, is this the switch and location you are asking about? If so this is the rear defogger switch as described above. This toggle style switch began sometime after February 1974. Also, if your car had a rear defogger, there should be a small oblong vent on the drivers side inside deck near window, and a bulge in the fender well on the drivers side to make room for the blower motor.

Jimmy
