I'm a Swissman and I want to buy a Corvette after some 26 years with a Dodge Challenger 71.
I'm mainly looking for a C2 65-67, but the prices of them are very high (too high often, sadly...).
So Today I've seen a very interesting ad in Hemmings for a also long desired car :
From what you can see in the pictures it looks like a car worth pursuing. It still has the smog pump, original radio and at least the correct type of carb judging from the fuel line. It has also has the correct redline tach.
You should definitely have a qualified inspector look at it, though, as pictures can be deceiving and don't give you an indication of frame condition or numbers verification. The price almost seems too good considering it is at a dealer. Good luck!
Looks like a nice LT-1 the wiring needs some attention but other than that it seems all there.
If you get it you won't regret it just do your homework properly when choosing a shipper and if you can't travel to inspect the car yourself find a local specialist appraiser.
Hi Christian,
Although it may just be a matter of how folks use certain words I'll mention that as much as you may need an "APPRAISAL", with a car like a 70-72 LT-!, you need to have someone with the technical knowledge and experience required to do an "INSPECTION" of the car to determine if ALL the MANY parts that make a 71 Corvette a 71 LT-! Corvette, and are appropriate for THIS particular car, are in fact still on the car.
You don't want to pay too much for the car if certain important items are missing.
So, be cautious to ensure that you're buying the car you think you're buying.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
Definitely have someone climb underneath and spend some time
Nice job cleaning up what was probably an already decent car on the flip side was suspension rebuilt, doesnt sound like any of the mechanicals are. That car really worth that much like that?
Hi,
It appears the engine pad was stamped "040" when the engine was rebuilt in the "2000s".
I don't see a price in the BB listing… did I miss it?
For some reason mac os won't go to Hemmings!

Alan

Maybe the motor is bored .040 over. "Billy Bobs fast expensive cars", I guess the name says it all. I guess they don"t list the price, "if you have to ask, you cant afford it" kind of mentality. It does look very nice. If I had won the lottery I would be looking at it.
Good luck with getting it, I hope everything works out. Maybe you could start a different thread and ask for input from others that have had to arrange shipping for recommendations. Not everyone is going to know what you need from the title on this thread
I remember looking at a '71 orange LT1 at Conte's a while back; it was a very nice car and did sell, but is not the same car Chris is interested in.
Conte's current orange roadster is a '72 BB auto. And yes, Conte has a very good reputation. http://thekidsmagic.com/watch/djXlmm...ineland-nj-usa

Person you will meet . That is a nice car.
Was out this week-end. Thank you at all for your comments !
It seems this is an interesting Corvette for, I think, a good price. Now, I'm always careful with Corvettes ad : With C2's there is often one or several important points that the seller "forget" to mention...
I'll ask an appraiser. If someone knows a good guy in NJ or near States ?
Thank you !
Have a question : I've read hat the Convertible is less stiffer than the T-Top car. This causes rattles on the road : is it true ? What is your experience ?
Are not the T-Tops noisy as well because of T-Tops adjustments?
