I've been pacing myself. I've been working on it while on vacation and weekends on and off for a while. I placed the last major order today. I've been mostly working my way from the back towards the front. When I'm lacking a major part, I move to the next thing provided that it won't impact the installation of the missing part. I'm hoping to replace the passenger side speaker tomorrow. Then likely will hook up the fuel pump, lines, and last two heater hoses.

I'm going to borrow a set of Walker SuperTurbo mufflers that we have sitting around, came from another one that is apart. I've been trying to decide on stock, N11, or set of SuperTurbos. Want something that sounds decent, and hoping to avoid droning while cruising. I'm targeting before end of January firing it.

Wes, didn't see your post. Merry Christmas and happy new year. The Big block does look so nice between the fenders. The other three 70 vetted are all small blocks, and aren't as tight.

Looking forward to the second drive in the car. First time was in early to mid 90s with the previous owner. It has been apart since shortly after that. I'm excited and nervous for the engine to fire.

Had to remove the drivers side exhaust manifold but tranny and everything else went in with minimal pain. The engine pivot made it a lot nicer, along with extending the lift arm. Going in from the side would have been more trying due to harder pushing it sideways. This is the first engine that I have installed in a corvette.

Didn't get a lot of time today to work on the car. Verified the correct orientation of the fiber optics per side. Found that the car had a more careless re paint than thought before, as the tail lights were hosed with green inside the housings. Some lacquer thinner got the fiber lens clean and allowing light transmissions. Got the speaker replaced and got the dash panel in.

Removed the lift plate, and started to put the gaskets on for the carb, and install studs. About that time my dad showed up needing help. Had to help move 4 sets of cylinder heads from his garage to another spot along with an old three speed transmission.

The next time I am over where the car is, the carb will be bolted down, heater hoses mounted, and fuel pump and lines mounted. Need to also start installing AC lines, but will talk to friend that owns a shop first for input. I'm not uncapping the dryer until the shop charges it.

May get around to testing the radiator, but we will see. The core support is lose, but figure that it will be better to wait to tighten it up until radiator, fan and shroud are in.

Been awhile since thread was updated.

Had a heck of a time getting the center duct installed. No matter what I did it would not fit. Ended up busting the top half off the cluster. Took a break and talked to a friend that has a shop. Ended up replacing the oil pressure line as well. Deduced that firewall box was not positioned correctly. Took out ducts, cluster radio and loosened bolts. Took rubber mallet and persuaded the box over without damaging it. Got things in and tightened up. Interior is now fully together with exception of rear window storage tray that I will install later.

Dropped the tank, replaced fuel lines, found car was delivered new to Texas. Took pictures of tank sticker, and parts that aren't glued down are safe in my home. Oil pressure line from block to plastic is shaped and mounted. Starter is installed with bracket, shields and wiring.

Radiator and shroud are installed. Need to bolt down core support sides and bottom of shroud other than that it's installed. Was able to get fan installed with exception of one nut (dropped it) last night.

Need to install radiator hoses, secure core support sides, lower shroud to core support, rear exhaust (not decided on mufflers yet), POA valve, expansion valve, AC lines, and condenser. Not connecting to dryer at this time, which will happen by AC shop before it's evacuated and charged. Will keep lines capped at end of each to keep debris out. Other than that should be able to fire it up for first time.

Will replace the 20 year old BFG R1s that are on the car likely next month.

If it's together and has some miles on it, I may drive it down to San Antonio for NCRS convention in July.

Started to put the hoses on and found the lower coupler had a small rust hole. Hopefully going to get it welded up tomorrow. Did get the upper hose on though and lower radiator hose at the radiator. Installed the front shocks, sway bar end links, and all the cotter pins. The previous owner rebuilt the front end, but didn't tighten things down. Found the front shocks are Koni's painted gray.

Need to install the POA and expansion valve. I'm borrowing mufflers from another car, but have to get them off the pipes. The other car is under restoration (one of my parents cars) and haven't been able to decide which mufflers. Thinking about stock, off road (N11 from Corvette Central), or Walker Super Turbos. The ones I'm using are Super Turbos.

With some luck, will be starting it for first time soon. Still need to purchase coolant and battery.
Also need to get trans fluid for the Muncie.
