Well...Doing the Vortec conversionI was planning to use the factory exhaust manifolds. Yeah yeah...I know. Part of my perfect plan would have been to put headers on later after I had grown accustomed to the new power. I would then have a relatively easy upgrade a couple years from now. However my perfect plan was foiled when the manifolds would not fit, the valve covers interfered.
So now we have a setback, and wth Christmas just around the corner I may not be driving it for a few more weeks.
I could have taken a grinder to the valve covers...No. I could have taken a grinder to the manifolds...Too ugly. So I bought a set of Flowtech headers, ceramic. The price was right, 300 from Summit. Should be here in a few days. Does anyone else have these? Any reviews?
I just put a set on my 76 and they fit good and I don't have any leaks. I got them on sale from Summit for $285. I haven't had it out on the road yet though but I don't foresee any problems. I have read good things about them but like any reviews, there will be someone who doesn't like them for some reason or other.
I have them on my 72 and no complaints. Usually you can expect headers to need filing and hammer denting to get the bolts to clear but not with these . They fit perfect and sealed great with no alterations .
