Pieces over rear wheel wells don't fit well (Al Knoch carpet--not blaming him.). The original underlayment is still in the car. I've been told to take the jute backing off the new carpet --and also told not to. If you have done this before, I would appreciate your input. Also guidance on what pieces should be fitted first, second, etc. Short cuts welcomed!

Reason: Spelling
There is some trimming required to get new carpets to fit right. I did not remove the jute padding, but I did have to trim it back to get the rear plugs into the back wall, and the footman loops on the wheel wells.
I recall that the wheel wells go in first, then the floor / back wall overly that.
Nice pics Alan! My carpet had a stiff plastic backing, a bitch to work with. Heating it up in the sun (summer) helped a lot. Patience, patience... yes.
You probably already know this, but it was not mentioned. If you use a hair blow dryer to heat the carpet (and plastic coating in back) it well be more stretchy and pliable. Heat it as you fit it to the wheel wells when it cools it will pull tighter.

Hi WB,
I included the astro-vent tube picture thinking perhaps a coupe person might look at the photos and should see that a round hole was cut in the top edge of the wheel well carpet.
Regards,
Alan
