Left the car in the rain the other day and noticed that I had a wet spot on the rug in 2 areas, under the clutch peddle on the driver’s side and the same area on the passenger side.
Seems like it’s coming from under the dash so I’m thinking its leaking from area where the windshield wipers are.
There is a think waterproofing material in this area, almost like a tar like material.
My first thought it to reapply that.
1) What is this stuff?
2) Where can I get it?
3) How best to apply it?
Another questions does anybody have a smart way of finding a leak other than running a hose on the car and waiting to find water?
Get the brightest f'n light you can find with a focused beam, have someone shine the light up into the underdash area moving its focal point slooowly all around while you view the cowl area in a pitch black garage.....
This flashlight will wake the dead...$20 EBay, $25 Ace Hardware.... fantastic flashlight.

you can have someone use a garden hose and run water onto your window so you can determine where the leak is before using tar or something similar. Good luck
I had a vette once that had the windshield replaced and they used that sealer that comes in a roll. Anyway, that sealer allowed the rain to get behind the glass and run down into my interior... I chased that damn leak for a long time. It wasn't until I removed the windshield in later years for a repaint that I saw evidence of the source of the leak along the A pillar.
