Default Mystery wire?

I found this wire behind the passengers seat in my 76. I can't find anything in my AIM or anywhere. It looks like glass on the end. Any ideas?

Hi Danny,
That wire is very likely from the rear defogger. In 1976 vettes they had the option RPO C 49 which was rear defogger. It had glass heating elements instead of the old style blower type in previous years. Your original window must have been broken/ busted out. Is your rear glass now unheated? If so it ( the original)was more than likely replaced with a non heated ( probably less expensive) back window.
Check date too!
Hope this helps,
Tooch

Thanks! That makes sense. I have the toggle switch for it which was disconnected. Now it makes sense. Thanks much!
