Anyone using a ZZ6 in a C3? Thoughts and/or opinions welcome.

I'm using a ZZ4 in mine. Great engine. ZZ6 is very similar. More HP but close. They will take a lot of abuse.

I would assume other than a performer intake and a shorter water pump (for hood clearance) its plug and play?

It's a standard 350 block. The only issue I've had is that hood clearance over the carb is tight. I had to go with a drop base air cleaner and a 2 1/2 inch filter to avoid scratching the hood. The distributor is a larger HEI type so the chrome covers will not fit. There may be some differences in the fly wheels but whether of not that's a problem may depend on your trans.

Raphiki, I'm having issues with stock hood clearance after the ZZ6 install. Were you able to get there with 2.5" filter and drop base? Do you have a stock hood?

I have a stock hood and it's been a problem. I currently use a 3" filter with a drop base and Edelbrock top. I found that the 2 1/2 inch filter interfered with the choke on the Holley. The air cleaner actually touches the hood. I've been thinking of getting a low rise manifold but don't really know which one to go with. Any suggestions would be welcome!
