I've been in the middle of restoring the interior of my 81.
I redyed and clear coated my seat backs, and used 3M adhesive spray to install new carpet on the seat backs. Everything is looking good, but I have just a little adhesive overspray on the seat backs that I need to clean up.
What is the best product to use that will remove the adhesive overspray without stripping the new dye and clear coat? Looks like denatured alcohol and acetone may be more aggressive than what I want-
I'd get a piece of scrap plastic materiel similar to your bucket pan and dye it, coat and wait for it to cure, then spray some of the adhesive on it lightly to mimic the overspray and then try your different solvents and see which works without harming the rest of your hard work. It might take a week to dye and coat the scrap/sample but in the end it will be worth it.
