Default 1974 Seat belts

I am trying to install new seat belts into my 1974 convertible BB.I purchased the deluxe set and have installed the rollers. But now i am trying to install the female ends to the firewall, but the new seat belt is not wired for the seat belt buzzer/lamp.

What is best practice here when installing new seat belts?
connect the wires together on the harness, and use new seat belts?
Used old seat belt connector?

FYI old seat belts wont fit into the new plastic sleeve they are too short.

Yeah, I had the same problem.
And the receivers from the old belts wont take the tongues from the new seat belts.

I took my belts to a local trim shop and had them move the old tongues to my new straps.
That way I am still running the same receivers but new long straps and retractors. You can't see the that the receivers are the originals because they are down beside the seats.

What did you do with the wiring for the seat belts?

By using the stock receivers, I was able to leave the wiring in.
The Wiring is only in the receivers.
It detects if the receiver has a belt tongue in it.

Me too. I had the same problem and used the stock receivers on a set of 93 - 02 Camaro belts.
Seat belt BUCKLE switches are normally closed.
Seat pressure switches (under the seat) are normally open.

Do you want the seat belt light to function?
