I have seen some 1981 cars referred to as Bowling Green edition cars. What they were really talking about was a 1981 Corvette that was built at Bowling Green, as opposed to St. Louis.
As we all know, 1981 Corvette production started in St. Louis, and ultimately finished in Bowling Green (with a short overlap period between the two plants).
Never heard of a 1982 Corvette being referred to this way.
Yes In those years it was known that there was a certain car called a bowling green edition. I don’t remember exactly what it was. It might have only been a special paint job. It wasn’t a major change like a pace car but it definitely exists. I repainted a 77 to look similar to a bowling green edition. We chose the exact colors as one of the BG choices but swapped top to bottom. Charcoal bottom and silver top. My car was painted like this
