$43 YOM Licence Plate Restoration
I decided to put correct License plates on my 72. After looking on fleaBay at restored YOM plates I decided to find some at a local auto swap meet.
I found a decent set of early 70's California Blue License plates for $8, worked out the dents, sandblasted, and painted. All in with plates I spent $43. Here are some pictures. Note that the Blue plates started Jan 1st 1970 and started with the Letter A in the second set of characters. "G" from what I understand was issued in 72.

Nice, I was able to find 72 Texas plates for mine. The ones I found were new (never issued, left over from the Texas DPS) but they had been stored with that brown paper between them ands still have traces of the paper on them. Maybe I will try and scrub them this weekend.
