I am wondering about swapping my 68 hood for a 77. I am hoping it will fit and therefor I won't have to worry about the vacuum issues plus need the height for new intake. Anything I need to be aware of? Thanks Phil

The L88 hood has a ton of space, you can get it with or without the cold air box. Without it should allow some of the heat to escape when your idling which is a plus.
i have a long hood on mine, not 100% sure what year it is off of but all the latches match up well and without the fender extensions the hood lines up there also.
i have a victor jr intake on with a drop base air cleaner and it fits with about 1/2" to spare
I have a L88 hood on my 72 but the short version. I don't drive in the rain and keep my wiper door down. I have about a 1/4" between the top of the air cleaner and hood due to my intake and 1/2" carb spacer with 2 vacuum ports.
