Default Side pipes

Hi,

I just purchased a 1974 Corvette Stingray. I'd like to install Side pipes.

I live in Australia, from where can I order and import side pipes?

Best Regards,

Indi

Hooker, Doug's headers, and Billy Boat (B&B) all make them. Summit Racing and/or Jegs sells the Hookers, and possibly the Doug's. Being from "down under", I'd suggest checking to see who will ship the easiest for you.

I'd also check to see if they are legal there too. Be a bite to pay for them and the shipping only to find out you can't drive the car. Just sayin'

Hi Indi

Side pipes are legal here, seen quite a few C3's with them. I think the legality issue here is noise, just make sure they don't go above the legal decibel limit, and of course you can get baffles to muffle the sound somewhat. If they're rather loud, after a long drive you'll be wishin' you installed the baffles anyway if your not half deaf after the event

Not sure whether your in a club, I think each Oz state has a Vette club with an associated forum, not meaning to take away from this forum but local knowledge can mean a great deal if you've never dealt with this sort of thing before. You may even find that some Mechanics that work on vettes here may important them for you, and be able to do it cheaper (i.e. tag it on in there next shipment). Nothing like a PRO mechanic/restorer in the business that has had years of experience with Vettes to give you top notch advice based on what your after. SR Performance based in Sydney is one of those types and would be all too willing to help. They did our chassis and helped me out with a few other things along the way:

For local stuff I've found the people in the below club forum very helpful lots of experience and advice when dealing with getting kit from overseas or even local.

best of luck and congrats on your new 74, any pics?

I think these look better than the aftermarket side pipes. These are GM factory side pipes. Just my 2 cents worth.
