Default a/c compressor and wiring

Hi there. I am working on my wiring and have found many problems. I have a/c on car (don't know if it works) but want it hooked up. I am missing lower bracket which I will buy. I got the heater switch sorted out and straightened out the harness. I find 2 connectors that I think are for a/c. In the pic one both are a flat 2 pin. One has an eye to ground and other both wires in harness? Only one plugs into compressor? Where on compressor does it go. I can only see top without removing. These engage the clutch on compressor?
Other wiring is in the pic there are two wires going toward ground on blower motor. Black is hooked up and in trunk there is an orange that stops? is it for something else that is an option. I do have blower working and there is an orange wire there but it is on and all speeds work.

Any help or picture appreciated
Gary

The connector with the green and black wires goes to the compressor. The black wire then loops over the compressor bracket (the one with the support arm leading to the engine block).

I'm not sure about the other wires. My '79 also has a two-wire (lt. blue & lt. green) connector for the pressure switch installed on the high pressure line just behind the coolant recovery tank.

Also in '79 there is another green wire that attaches to the (poorly named for this application) idle stop solenoid located ahead of the throttle. It bumps up the idle with A/C running. Looks like you have an '81 or '82 so, provided it's installed and working, the engine control computer probably takes care of that.

I based my age guess on the valve cover. It is definitely not from 1973.

The black wire with the rubber end, that goes at the back of the compresssor below the alumimum block. The plug with the green and
black wire plugs in at the front of the compressor with the black wire
with the end on the mounting bolt below. You can see on my 73.

Thanks. I see in your picture the plug in the front of the compressor. That is the one with the green and black coming out of the trunk? Then the back of the compressor when you say black wire with the rubber end do you mean the eye on the black wire? What happens to the green and black 2 pin connector from this one?

Gary

ps when you have time can you see where the orande wire I asked about goes on yours? The black that is with it goes to a single connector that goes to ground on blower motor.

The connector with the green and black wire with the eye, that goes to
the front of the compressor with the black wire on the bracket bolt below the below the compressor.

The black wire with the rubber end, that goes to the back of the compressor. This wire has a round rubber end that plugs into the compressor.

The only orange wire I see, is this one that goes to the relay on the evaporator box. I don't know what you are describing that goes to the "trunk".

Thanks Donnie. By trunk I mean wiring harness which I call trunk. I worked wiring for years and the trunk i main bundle of wires and they branch out. I have the orange going to the relay . There are two wires and orange and black going towards the blower motor and black goes to ground on motor.
I will follow the orange back.Thought I would ask rather than opening up the wrap on harness but oh well. Other connecter I have is probably for high pressure sensor which I will try to locate. Then look for black rubber one for back.
Once again Thanks
