Has anyone had any luck getting the right sheen using more readily available satin black paints for the trim pieces other than Krylon Semi Flat Black or the SEM product?
I have always used Corvette America interior dye products for everything interior related. I tend to lean more towards the Qts and used a small spray gun to shoot the product.

SEM Landau Black is the right stuff. A decent body shop and paint supply outfit may have it in stock or they can get it for you in a day or so.
At least in Maryland they keep it in stock.
The great thing about the SEM is it remains flexible. It matches the original exactly!

Thanks Bill. I bought the SEM 39143 Trim Black instead because it says its for metal, chrome, etc. The SEM Landau Black is for plastic thus the need for it to be flexible. The chrome piece on the upper part of the back seat is chrome. Put four coats on it this evening. It looks nice but just a tad less sheen than what I have. I guess if I want more sheen I can always wax it with carnuba. I did a grundle of searching and could not find anyone's comments on using paint for this trim piece. I got tired of buying all brands of paint to find the exact sheen so I give up. Everyone on the forum is using SEM 39143 Trim Black so I guess that's what I will use. Too bad the sheen is not exact.
