I have a quick question> 73 coupe. The little trim piece that goes in the front of the handle slot on the parking brake console. It goes in front of the slider piece. It is held on the console with clips and the new one I bought came colored black. My old one was missing.
Is the color of that trim piece supposed to stay black to match the slider piece or is it supposed to be interior color ( dark saddle)?

That's what I was originally thinking but it seems to be made of metal rather than plastic so that got me thinking which is a dangerous thing. Thanks for the info!
The "grained" part of it that has the texture of the console is coloured to go along with the interior colour. Of course if your interior is black than it doesn't matter... I have seen the middle parts only in black offered by the vendors also, as you can dye them to the needed colour
