Default 68 Rocker panels

Hey all.. I was just wondering about chrome rocker panels on some 68/69 Vetts. Did they make them for those years or were those just custom. Thanks....

Hi MR,
All 68-69 cars had the black fiberglass rocker trim.
I'm pretty sure the 70+ aluminum rocker trim panels fit on 68-69 cars quite easily.
Regards,
Alan

I thought about it for a few days about changing the rocker panels from my 68 original to the 70 aluminum rocker panels but i think ill just keep it as original as possible with the exception of the Robbins cloth black top. I also will be changing my original black vinyl interior to black leather interior . I thought about those 2 tone red in the middle and black on the sides with the C3 emblem on the top of the cover, vinyl seat covers that are avail on Corvette mods, as i really like that kinda look. But im thinking about the quality being not to good.As they look kinda cheap. And what the cost will be installing them. Not a good decision im thinking .

I think theres some neoprene seat covers that would fit tight, give you the look you desire with the color combos and logo that arent super pricey and most of all,,... aren't permanent. Ive seen some on ebayyyyyyyy

If your 68 rocker panels mounting points rotted off the car, like mine did years ago, you are forced to use the 70-76 (?) chrome one's. I tried using the next ones that are painted black and they are about 3/4" short in the front. Lou.

No mine are not rotted off the car..They are on very good. But i was just thinking about having the chrome ones for looks. But i would keep the black ones for sure. If yours were not rotted off your car would u still have put on the chromes or kept them black.

What do u mean not permanent? Yes they are on ebay the vinyl ones 2 tone color with the c3 logo. The neoprene 2 tone seat covers with the c3 logo are on Corvette mods.com i think. Both of them have to be installed as they are not seat pull over covers. For the price im getting from interior installers they want $750 per seat just to install not including the covers.Plus they are suggesting i buy new foam cushions for the seats . SO with that in mind i should just got for the best original seat covers like the original leather. Also this place wants $900 to just install a new convert top. plus my cost of the cloth top which is about $500.

The original 68-69 rockers are fiberglass and with the 68-69 fender design, they get torn up from rocks and gravel hitting them. The crazy thing is that GM always charged way more for the two piece 68-69 rocker pieces than the one piece 70-76 ones. Why a hunk of fiberglass painted flat black would cost a lot more than the aluminum one, makes no sense to me. It was close to twice the cost of the 70-76 ones. The aluminum rockers do look nice on a 68-69, and I had them that way for quite a few years on my car. Lou.

Sorry, they did make neoprene slide on covers that cover the original cover, not as nice as a real upolstered cover but a solution for daily driving........... I was just looking around ebay and couldn't fine them. It has been about a year since I was last looking. Good luck. I did see some available starting around $230.00 but out of stock with the logo

I just found these slide on and velcro

Hello RR... The first link u sent i did see them before on ebay and i did like them but those are not slide on. The other link u sent i did go on it and like the 2 tone ( black with the red in the middle ) but not sure if they are for only the seats with the head rest only . Mine dont have the head rests. And i did like the c3 logo on it but again im not sure if they will have that for the seats w/o the head rests.
