Exhaust!??

Whoever did it was not overly concerned in doing it correctly. I will explain knowing that you are not concerned with 100% original design. But at least getting it correctly supported and joints where the pipe meet in correct locations due to ground straps and other issues that can become an issue if done incorrectly when certain service operation need to be performed.
In the photo below they did not correctly bend the pipe to clear the point where you transmission cable mount area is located.
A close up view showing the pipe right under where the cable is mounted
You were aware that the rear exhaust hanger bracket that bolts to the back of the transmission is now missing and that is due to the fact they did not bend the pipe in order for the pipe to fit it correctly.
The yellow arrow is pointing to the aftermarket exhaust hanger that was welded to the pipe and then mounted to the transmission cross member.
The blue arrow in the photo below is showing where they made the slip joint where the pipes meet which is well past the transmission cross member. The RED arrow is pointing to where the slip joint should be located and where the exhaust hanger bracket off of the transmission tail shaft area would be located.
The photo below is showing the red RTV silicone used on the taper gasket.
