The 80-82 lamps will fit in the 75-79 bumper, but they don't sit as deep into the holes in the bumper. The screw holes do line up.
Below are 75-79 and 80-82 back up lamps, in a 75-79 rear bumper. You may be able to get the later lamps to sit a little deeper into the bumper, by trimming the "legs" on the back of the lamp some?
