Hi I just joined and found a lot of help on here when I parked my 78, took the key out and the gen light was still on. I disconnected the battery as suggested. Thanks!!!
I'm wondering what else I can check out? The alternator is new. Last week the power locks quit working. I suspected I blew a fuse. Now today it's the gen light. Any suggestions on who to use in the Little Rock AR area for older vettes? Any help appreciated. She is in good shape otherwise with only 42k miles.

Kris Keltner is someone you need to know. He owns the Colony West Conoco and works on many corvettes.
If the previous suggestion of using that individual doe not work out....you do know you can get the help you need to fix this....if you fixing things yourself is something you want to do.
And not that it means anything at all....but just because the alternator is new means nothing....they can fail also right out of the box...and I am 'saying' this from experience. I recently had a customer who was bringing me their own alternator and had three tested at the auto parts store before they bought it...and ALL three that had for that specific usage failed. NO LIE!. That is why when I told him I was going to take his over to a shop I use that rebuilds them. Now he understood WHY i do not buy them from auto parts stores. I do not have the time messing around with if it is or not going to work.

Thanks for the reply and insight! I had a shop do the alternator and radiator and various other stuff but that was in Texarkana. Now that I am in LR I need a local vette guy. I have been able to fix a few minor things on my own but I am gonna hand this one off and hope it's an easy fix. I'm sure there will be other fixes along the way, she is over 40 years old lol.
Thanks!

I hope all turns out well so you can enjoy your Corvette.
If you find yourself having to fix this on your own...just remember there are people here to help you if you feel the need to 'expand your horizons' and do more of your own work on your Corvette.
