Default 71 Left Air Duct Question/Help

I took the attached pic during disassembly and I have no idea where/what the nut goes to that is attached with a bread tie. Can someone please provide a pic of the left lower dashpad with the duct attached. I need to see how it attaches please, 1971 with air.
Any insight as to where/ that nut goes to also appreciated.

Hi dp,
The AIM indicates a small screw/bolt goes up through the bracket on the duct into a u-clip on the bracket for the odometer re-set and courtesy lamp.
Is there a hole in the bracket where the twist tie is?
Regards,
Alan

This is a no a/c car but the bracket is the same.

Hi Alan, thanks for helping with this. Yes there is a hole there, and I kinda thought that was how it went together....God only knows where/what that nut belongs to

I've been able to make some progress on the dash parts, I'm awaiting a few parts from willcox and will post pics when I get those.

Awesome timing on this thread.

I recently purchased a '71 coupe and this same duct fell out between my feet during a drive this morning and the courtesy light was left dangling.

I was going to crawl in on my head tomorrow to figure out where it went, but now I know. Of course, I'll still have to get under there to put it back together, but as I said, now I know how it goes in and what to look for.

Yeah.....the manuals are great, and the search function here is fantastic, but nothing beats a picture, and those all come from the wonderful members and vendors on this forum...just can't beat it
