Anyway I can tell if I have the factory spare tire?
Curious to know how I can find out if I have the original spare in my 73....
Any markings I should look for? I know there is the size of the tire written on it with white markings......Was that a factory practice?
Thanks...

Well tires have a date code on them( I know the do now and I believe they did in the 70s) so a good check would be find the date code and see if it fits for the build date of your car

Can you tell us more about your tire? Brand, model, size, date code? A photo would be very helpful. Show us the full width tread, the outsidewall and the insidewall. A photo of the rim would help too.

No. Factory practice was five tires of the same size and configuration until the space saver spares came out. Radial tires were introduced beginning with the 73 model year.
Is you spare a radial? Does it look forty-four years old? If your 73 had optional tires, does your spare match? Post a pic.
