I recently purchased an almost complete interior from a '68 convertible and not sure what color it is. It has been removed for years and the car is no longer around to check the number. I purchased it for the origional door panels which were the best I have come across in years. (I'm going to dye to match existing interior color) All the color chips and pictures don't match real close. Is there any places on the interior components that might help in identifying the color? The color I believe is Tobacco it's not red it's more brick red or more brown then red. The seat belts have a date code of 39E67 which is I believe to be September 1, 1967. The reason for correct color so that when I put up for sale I can list it correctly.
A friend has a red interior that's not it. I know a person that has a Tobacco interior but he's 70 miles away. I think I have pictures but can't find them at this time.
Tobacco interior was a medium dark brown slanted with some orange or red in it. I believe that it came in vinyl and leather, and my recollection (not great, anymore) was that the leather (code 436) shade was darker than the vinyl (code 435) shade of Tobacco.
You might Google "1968 Corvette interior images" and see what comes up. You can tell the leather seats by the wider panel sections in the seat.
The Tobacco interior looks really nice with the Bronze exterior paint.

In pictures I've seen Dark Orange range from being very bright to even darker than what is shown in the picture I attached.
I don't remember where I got that picture from, but I think it represents the factory Dark Orange pretty well.
The reproduction parts of Dark Orange are all over the place and will have a wide range of colors.
Hard color to find parts for. Should help with the interest level of people needing interior pieces. Good luck with the sale.

The seats, door panels, lower dash pads are very close in color. The dash pad is faded but in good shape. The kick panels look close to other parts considering their just painted.
Thanks for the responds from all the forum members.
