Measure the backspacing. If its 4" BS then they should fit.
The tire size is ok, but the wheel offset is the important measurement.

Im running 255/45x17 on a 69 so the tires fit but as others stated you need to give us the numbers for the wheels, back spacing, offset, and width.

Tire size is OK but the wheels are probably only 7" wide if they are off a mid year. An eight inch is a real tough fit on a mid year. So even if the back space is good you may be giving up an inch of width.
