Default Grant 791 steering wheel

I'm looking to replace my stock steering wheel and I like the looks of the Grant #791.

In the tech description on the Grant web site said it's a direct replacement which is cool.

When I look it up on the Summit web site it says it's for a tilt / tele columns only.

Does anyone have on a non tilt / tele column? My car is a 71.

I just purchased the mahogany version of this wheel (Grant 794) with the understanding that it's a direct fit for my 68 (no tilt/tele). If you search the forums for "Grant 794" or "Grant 791" you'll find a handful of threads. None of them mention them not being compatible or requiring an adapter.

I have a 78 and I purchased the same from Amazon last year. Yes, it did fit on my hub. But what they don't point out is the difference in the depth of the spokes. Hope I am stating this correctly. The grant is not dished out or as deep as your stock wheel. Therefore I am stretching my arms more. I am considering having my original wheel rebuilt or purchase another one which is deeper.

I did do a search. Couldn't find a specific post tilt/tele versus non tilt/tele.

I didn't pull the steering wheel yet.

I'm going to order one and will confirm fitment.

I was hoping the reduced dish and diameter will make the car more comfortable to drive.

Thanks for the replies.

I understand you have a C2 via the pic. Looks nice.

Is yours a tilt / tele?

no mine is just a fixed column. I just wanted to let you know it is a good wheel. mine been on the car for I would say over 10 years now. by the end of this year I'm going to put a after market tilt column in and I'm hoping the wheel fits that column. I was able to use the horn button an all it fit right on the column.

Are you aware that you do NOT pull the steering wheel? You remove the horn button and the contact and the wheel unscrews from the hub.

Here's a pic of the Grant 794 (wood version of the same wheel) I just installed in my 68. Direct bolt on, no adapter needed.
