From: Graceland in a Not Correctly Restored Stingray
I've noticed that mods are more likely to allow the odd update of info if deemed sufficiently relevant to an old thread - and particularly if from the OP &/or those who were already actively involved in the discussion - without necessarily locking. But, when someone new to the scene drops in as if an old thread were still fairly recently active they tend to look at things differently. There was one revived not too long back that was ~15 years old, IIRC...
it funny when you start a thread and it is about something that has been talked about 1 or 15 years a go you all ways get a guy that says check the archives we all ready talked about this. but it makes no difference to me just something I noticed.
It seems to me that I previously saw somewhere on here, that it may be acceptable, if it's pertinent to the original discussion.
The other day someone resurrected an eleven year old post, to answer a question in it that had already been answered eleven years ago. A quick check revealed that the OP hadn't even been back on the Forum, in eleven years. That was not relevant or pertinent?
This thread isnt general really and will likely get moved to the help section,
Rules or no rules i personally in most cases like to start a new thread for lots of reasons,
Look at the ford fan thread i just made, sure lots of fan threads on here some talk about the ford fans but they also have a lot if misinformation and sadly a less savvy person will not know good tech from dogdoo,
New threads keep things fresh,
