Default 2 wires under the armrest????

I am re-assembling my center console on my '74 and under the parking brake/armrest (rear console) there are 2 short wire sets (2 each) with different ends on them. my Dr rebuild wire map says they are for RH and LH buckle switch connector's. my question is what do they connect to?
also, whats the original locations for the left hand drivers side courtesy light, I found the orange & white wires stowed up in the dash with no bulb or socket and wanted to re-install it. would it go in the foot well above the pedals?

It is wise to always post your YEAR model a the beginning of your thread. Need to know what year you have due to the foot well lights are different.

Hi Lynwood,
If your seat belts are originals and your seats are originals, check up under your seat bottoms for a switch that is connected in the seat bottom springs. If so, check the wire connector to see if indeed it will connect to the two plugs you show in your photo. The 74 Seatbelt warning system functions like this: When weight (over 30lbs.) is detected on the seat bottom the car can't be started until the seat belts are buckled. There should also be a wiring connection plugging into your retractor side of the seat belts. There is an override switch located on the passenger side firewall, that permits starting of the car if something in the system fails. But it must be done each time you try to start the car, until you either find the problem or disconnect(disable) the system. Maybe a previous owner unplugged everything to disable it.
Check to see if all your wiring and switches are present.
As far as the interior light I'll take a pic of my 73 later showing you it's location. It will be the same, unless someone beats me to it.
Here's a pic of the switch from my 73, I'm thinking it is the same. Note: The 73 only uses this switch on the passenger seat. The belt warning system functions differently too! On the 73 you only need to pull the belt up about 10 inches to shut off the buzzer and turn out the warning light.
Hope this helps,
Tooch

thanks for the info guys, I checked and I have nothing under my seats, i do have the wire going to the retracter set up and I have already bypassed the seat belt interlock system using advise from this forum. there is also no wires coming out of the base of the seat belt lock set ups on the tunnel? I think my seats are not original as the car was originally white with red interior, now its all black. I dont remember disconnecting the wires I found so I will just leave them be.
I still want to hook up the courtesy light once I see your picture of its position.

Here are the pictures of the left side courtesy light socket, and mounting from my 73. The socket fits into and is mounted to the trip reset **** metal bracket. I've also included a photo from my 73 AIM showing its location.
Hope this helps you out.
