Spare tire compartment key
After a new paint job and installing new door locks i noticed the the new door keys also works for the spare tire compartment lock
When looking at the two keys they look completely different yet the door key works for the tire lock. The tire lock key -42 years old also works for tire lock" But will not work in the new door locks.
Tried some random gm keys to see it the spare tire lock was broken but it is working correctly.
Any ideas as how this happened?

Its kinda like the same theory with a Master key. I work in a school. Some keys work one door, some keys work all the doors (master key). You have a key that only works one lock and another key that works more than one. I don't fully understand how all the tumblers and tech stuff works in locks but apparently your one key can work all the tumblers in the two locks but the other only works tumblers for the one lock.
