What is a good oil pan that does not leak for a 1981 corvette standard?
I do not have the original anymore and when I went to a Milodon, oil leak out of front seal every time with two different types of gaskets. The felpro one piece looks and fits like a really nice gasket but as soon as the car is warmed up, leak out of the front seal. No rtv install leaks, rtv install leaks, whatever I do front seal leak. What is going on and what kind of pan other than this one if this is the issue? It doesn't make any sense other than the pan just doesn't have a good seal in the front. Someone, please steer me in the right direction
There are two one piece pan gaskets available from Felpro for a SBC. Are you sure you used the right one for the pan you have? The early pans (pre '75) take a slightly thinner gasket (in the curved part) than the later pans. The early pan gasket part No ends in 09 the later one 10.

-Hey Teddi, i pulled my motor 4 times and replaced the thilnksndifgn;laksdf thing every time due to it leeking. All and all It was because of the Summit racing 7 quart oil pan. The gauge of metal was to thin and when i would torque it down with the one piece gasket it would always leak. I tried both putting sealer in the corners and not putting it in the corners. Either way it didn't leak any differently.
Solution: Bought a 350 dollar Canton Racing 8 quart pan. Put the one piece in and put a scoche of sealer on the corners(a film with the finger). Torqued it down and doesn't drip a drop or even have a juicy fart of oil!
It is most likely your pan, check the metal thickness and if the holes cave in just a little, the slightest amount will create problems.

Yeah, it is a milodon pan and they told me that it requires the thick seal but it still leaks out of the front seal.......I hate oil leaks
