1979 Corvette......was replacing my halfshafts due to rear end noises, and they looked bad due to rust. So while I'm under there, i decided to just go ahead and paint any and all parts of the frame i could reach while it is on jack stands. While doing this, I got some on the exhaust pipes. I didn't notice it while i was painting it, but none the less its there. Are there any worries or issues with this. It is not high temp version. Should i take a wire wheel and start removing it or is it not a bid deal?

It probably depends how much you got on the pipes . If it is just a little bit I wouldn't worry except it might smell for a while . If it is a lot it could really cause a stink or possibly cause a fire. PR-15 is hard to remove once it is cured , especially on the hot exhaust . If you use a wire wheel you will also take off any galvanizing if you have that.

thanks for the response, so risk a fire, or risk the exhaust rotting.....perfect. Its not bad, it looks like it has 5-10 drips here or there on it. Not a lot of it, just enough to be a pain in the eye sight

How long has it been ? Lacquer thinner might still cut it or paint remover like aircraft remover. If not then just dust it with some high temp silver and forget it if it's just the look that bothers you ..
