Good luck! Glad someone is going to save it. Saw that one on there, but I'm not up for that adventure. I'm almost finally in a good spot w/ my 78.

I know. I have a LOT of work to do.But, all and all car looks good.(To me.) I was relieved no major rust and that I could turn the motor by hand.

Had to retrieve in a supermarket parking lot for a 2 a.m. meeting with shipper. Yes, chains against the car are not a gentle way.

The last car I got involved with to rebuild, had visible broken valves (ouch) and acorns inside the engine, so, to me, this is bearable.

Surface rust throughout as you see here, but, nothing as bad as I have seen before.

Of course I have ZERO experience at restoration.First thing I am gona due is plug all the holes to keep critter and bugs from enter.

Seems like this car was well stored.

Rear transaxle intact.

Found out that the Corvette is a heavy little devil.

I dont know for sure yet, but, it seems this engine was running lately (last few years). Found a brand new air filter in backseat storage area.

Seems fresh oil?????

Are these seats Vinyl or leather, dont know myself.

Referanced prior air filter???? Of course no restoration project comes without some sort of critter corpse.(chicken, poodle, rabbit tan hair)

63000 miles on it, I wish, don't know.Was listed as 999,999 mileage?????

Top windshield trim.

Only bad rust spot. Frame right rear right in front of left rear tire. Speaking of tires, they are great.Of course Cragars Mags I am a sucker for.

If I knew what I was looking at, I could comment.

Water pump spins freely, I can turn engine. No gaurentees, block may be cracked, who knows at this stage.

Only good thing about this Baby is that it can only get better from here on out. Yeah, I know, it will cost more then it will be worth.Gotta love Vettes.

Guess I will learn about body work. Hopefully, with you guys and girls help, this will be a labor of love to ride the streets again, Deadmans Curve.

Your thread starts with asking a question about a buy and now there's a bunch of project pictures.

Do you want some editing or title change or something so it makes sense?

Yes, I can see how that might be confusing. I will try to edit it. If I fail, please let me know how to edit. Give me a few minutes.

I hope you read through the sticky at the top of this page about 10 things to know before buying a corvette. That thing is so rough, not many would try to save it. You'll probably be money ahead if you part it out and look for a better one to start with.

Vettebuyer6369,
I tried to edit the thread name to drop the word "buy", but, I could not figure it out. Is there a special forum I should go to for a Project or Restoration? If I need to delete this thread and start over, please tell me how to delete.

Yes, that is a decision I need to consider. Unfortunately, I already bought it and its in my front yard. You are absolutely correct. I will give it some thought.

FYI, your seats are leather and look pretty good for a deep cleaning with good leather products. Should come back to life saving you about $700 or more.
