Default Speedometer Cable Coupling

Can any one tell me how the long and short inside speedometer cables connect to each other at the couplings. I know the outside cable connectors screw together but unsure how the inside go together?

Are you talking about at the back of the gauge? If so, you just push it in. There's a goofy looking wire loop that holds it in place.

I was referring to the 2 piece speedometer cables were they come together under the driver side floor. I known the cable housings come together by screwing the fittings together but how do the cables inside the housings get connected. This is a 75 convertible by the way.

The lower cable should have a male and female end. The male with the cable extended, to the transmission
and the female with the threaded end connects to the upper cable with the upper cable going into the
lower female end. The upper cable should have the snap-on end to the speedometer and the other end to the connection.

Don't have photo of lower cable, but have the connection end of the upper.
