Vin doesn't give a lot of info. All it says is it was a St. Louis car, produced in March/April.
The trim tag on the door will give a little more info (paint and interior Color, and a more accurate build date)
Best place for info is the build sheet, if you're lucky it will still be on top of the gas tank.

For $50.00, the GM Heritage Center will research and send copies of whatever documents they can find. If they don't find anything, they won't bill your credit card. I got a copy of the original dealer invoice on my 1978.
