I have just acquired a 1977 corvette l82 four speed. I am wanting to go with sidepipes and not exactly sure what brand to go with. Help would be greatly appreciated. Couldn't find this subject in other threads
Thanks in advance
I got the hooker brand side pipe headers on my 77 l48. No problems with install, although others have reported problems.
Get them ceramic coated for longevity and to keep underhood heat temps down a bit.
Go with the Hooker SS. I've read too many testimonies about non SS pipes rusting so fast...worth the extra money. Installation and fitment no problem. I jacked the car way up on jack stands and curled the headers under the car with no issue. A header bolt or 2 were a pita.

I love my Hooker sidemounts!
Bigger question is, what muffler inserts to put in them? There are many choices, including other than Hooker's offerings, from quiet/restrictive to loud/free-flowing, with a number of tonal variations from tinny to rumbly. And, there are heat shields available from downright fugly to top quality stainless specifically designed for the C3, should you wish to take measures against joining the Hooker tattoo club.

Hey, if you know of some, could you list a few alternatives to my glasspack inserts?
I'm running Hooker Stainless sidemounts and pipes, the inlet & outlets (Inner tube diameter) are only 1.75 in , That's far too small for my engines HP.
Is there an insert alternative that's closer to 3 in ~ That's closer to what I need to not choke out my motors performance...
