Fixed Steering Pull
Thanks for the directional input a few weeks ago from several of you. My steering wheel was pulling persistently to the right on my '82, but applies equally to all C3's with power steering. I had my vehicle professionally aligned - it still pulled. Yes, the culprit turned out to be the two year old P/S control valve. I am hoping tat this insight helps others.
The fix:
I turned the steering wheel fully to the right providing access to the P/S control. I twisted (pliers) off the adjustment nut access cap and turned it clockwise 3/4 turn. If it had been pulling left - which is scary as hell because of oncoming traffic - I would have turned it counter-clockwise.
There is a YouTube C3-specific video that provided me with confidence to proceeds d I am really glad that I tried. My steering is now pull-free, and as neutral aa Switzerland.
