Front End / Steering Box
71 roadster: First issue is the steering is very hard, no power steering, the spokes in the steering wheel are at 10 o'clock slight vertical upper left to lower right when front wheels are straight. Second issue is the car bounces and seems to squirrel when I hit rough pavement. The original steel wheels were recently balanced. I am running 32 psi. I am thinking the second issue should be resolved with alignment. What gives with the first issue. The steering box is freshly rebuilt. Thoughts ?

First; manual steering should give great road feel and it's easy movement when moving, parking, well that's another story. I put P/S on mine.
Second; bouncy and squirrely, have alignment shop check out the suspension.

Mine jumped around until I aligned the rear end. You said the gearbox is freshly rebuilt, check the fluid level in there, then have the free play in the gear box checked or check on how to do it your self, there is an adjustment screw and lock nut on the top of the box
