It seems like everything I try to replace on this car with a reproduction part is like a root canal to perform. For the life of me I cannot get the heater/AC control unit in place correctly. The cable connection causes very limited movement making it impossible to secure correctly prior to the bezel install. If I disconnect that cable bolt it'll be impossible to re-secure. Has anybody else installed the heater control panel using a new shifter housing? I'd like to know if there was a neat trick or if I'm missing something.

Got it...finally. Sometimes your best friend can be a heat gun and a pissed off attitude. However I will say my decided order of operation and placement definitely helped the situation.
Is this a car you built? Sure looks clean. Would love to see more pics Or build pictures if you did so.
Yes I built her. She's had the body off and frame is all powder coated and EVERTHING replaced below the body. Original 350 engine with 25K miles on her. All matching number car with a 3:66 posi also rebuilt. I restored the whole interior except for the dash pad. Didn't need any attention. This car got quite the looks and comments at the last show and it wasn't quite done on the interior but I put her in anyways. Here's the show 2 weeks ago. If you look closely you can see the door panels not on yet LOL.
Hi JU,
I just got down to your pm on my list. Sorry it took so long.
I'm glad you got the 'hook-up' taken care of.
Interior and CAR do look nice!
Paint is VERY pretty.
The flag emblems on the seats are a nice subtle touch!!
Regards,
Alan
