Default bent steering rod

Anybody got any insight on if its possible or worth straightening a slightly bent lower steering column rod, or purchasing a new/used one. The top threads kind of suck too, so upper probably should be replaced as well. If I can straighten, or have straightened, the shaft for cheap, then I'll live with the threads. Thanks for any help.

You need to state that you have a 78 Corvette and if the column is a tilt and telescopic one.
I don't know if they had standard columns in 1978. Lou.
