Was the orientation of the distributor shield grounding clip in a different direction on the tri-power distributor shield. My impression is that the small block and 390 hp hung downward and the tri-power faced upward. Thanks
I was doing research on this and I found that I answered my own question in days gone past. But, I wasn't certain here recently because I met someone that swore their shield was original on a tri-power and I noted the clip was facing the wrong direction.
Something else that I noted but is probably of little importance to most is the type of rivet used on the clip. Over the last 20 years I collected a fair number of these distributor covers. The 68's were a little different when I studied them. On the 68's I noticed the lower edge on the front piece was sort of flared out. Also, the rivets on the clip were aluminum and they looked rather nasty in how they were installed. In 69 I noticed they were chrome. When the change occurred, I don't know and I don't think this is anything people seem to care about. I just happened to notice this over the years.
