How far forward of the body/bumper line are the rear mounting holes located?
I imagine with the tank just below, this is an important tid bit of information.
Thank you
Attached are the complete Installation Instructions for the 6-Hole Luggage rack, courtesy of Mid America Motorworks.
Good luck... GUSTO
Thank you Gusto and Alan.
I saw that MidAmerica drawing, but I also saw a diagram from Paragon that showed that hole at 2 1/8 ". That's why I was unsure.
Hi 66,
Although the 2 drawings (MAM & Paragon) don't indicate this, could the smaller dimension be measuring to the rear bar, while the larger is measuring to the cl of the hole?
The difference appears to be 'about' 2 inches.
Does a chrome bumper car or rubber bumper car use different dimensions.
Is a coupe dimension different than a convertible dimension…does it matter?
???
Regards,
Alan
To Gusto 14 and Alan 71: You took the time to offer constructive comments, so I thought I would share my luggage rack goings-on ...
Oh, and yes it's an 8-hole s/s rack and not correct for '75, but for $100 w/ mount kit, do I care about correctness?
And I can still get gas ... lol
Excellent job. I would not care if it wasn't correct for a '75, the 8-hole will be more supportive of the load and has the correct pins for the t-Top brackets and strap as well.
Is your rack (and screws) Stainless Steel? If it isn't I would at least get some SS screws to replace the chrome ones. The chrome rack will rust, but the screws will rust under the heads. At least with SS screws it will be one less problem and the cost of the 8 screws should be minimal.
Opps, I see you don't have the locating pins, the 8-hole on my '77 had the locating pins.

Thanks, Gusto. Yes, everything is s/s.
Actually, there are no pins for the t-tops brackets. I would prefer they were there, but don't really care about that, either.
