Default tire for c3?

I own a 1976 corvette and sadly the tires are no longer road worthy do to their age. I was wondering what tires do y'all recommend for standard around the town driving that won't break the bank?

Pretty much only a couple options unless you change to larger rims. Cooper Cobra's or BFG Radial T/A

I'm in the same boat. Prob. going to go with the Cooper Cobra's.

I just put Cooper Cobra 255 60 15 on mine...so far, so good, only about 100 miles on them so far.

I went with Cooper cobra's 225/70/R15 on my 8.5 inch wide Hurricane wheels. Took a bit to stretch them onto the beads but they aired up ok. They ride nice enough and got them for a deal. Cash and carry. $95 each

The above post pictures are spot on what mine look like.

Not great with computers so turn your monitor on it's side.

Most go with the BFG Radial T/A's which I had before I changed to redlines. What color is the car?

Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T. No worse than any other S or T rated tire.

Cooper cobra's for the last 4 or 5 years. Good tire for normal use. Cheap. Get them at Discount tire on line for around $100 apiece and free shipping.

Edit: I just checked and the 225/70-15 are $116 apiece. $75 rebate if you buy before end of July 5th (today).

I bought BF Goodrich Radial TA tires - 245/60r15 for about $180 each installed. I think a spare is important so I got a 215/70R15 noname that fit in the well perfectly - about as small as possible on a 15x8 rim.

Also considered Cooper Cobras. Had Coopers on my Jeep - good tires.

I used tirerack.com because my local shops seemed to have a supply problem. I was very hesitant but it all worked out great. Nothing but good experience with them this one time. Worth a look.

I'd love to have a set of redlines, but I've been impressed with the Cooper Cobras. They're a solid tire for how most of us drive our cars.

Since everyone loves pics...

Oops, I read the title as "Time for a C3?"

It's always time for a C3, but yeah, not much choice unless you got the OEM+ route.
