Default Best c3 suspension

What would be the best suspension for hard and curvy street driving but no racing or auto X. Definitely want the car lowered with as much rubber as possible without flares. I have seen some running 18x10 on all 4 corners but not sure what is needed suspension wise to obtain this without rubbing.

Have you decided the stock suspension won't meet your needs?

What have you got now? Stock? Which shocks? You'd be amazed what you can do with Bilstein shocks, sway bars and a little better rubber.

I do have stock right now but would like the car lowered with 18x10 on all 4 corners.

18x10's don't require any special suspension. You just need to watch the backspacing....5.25 to 5.5 is about the max backspacing. But...every C3 is tick different.

Replace all the old crusty bushings. Bilstein shocks, heim joint smart strut rods, 550springs in front with a fiberglass 3XX in back. That seems to be a good basic starter suspension upgrade around these parts....with of course the 20year old curvy ride.

and a really good alignment

On a budget, I can recommend the VBP grand touring suspension kit with bilsteins. It really does make the car handle very very well with a nice ride quality. Of course, replace all of your rubber bushings that are not supplied in the kit. I used rubber for that, but would have done a high grade polyeurathane if I were to do it over. It doesnt really make the car feel all the bumps as some purists would have you believe.
Now, if you want to take the next step up, and you have several more thousand dollars just laying around. The Ridetech setup is pretty nice too! I swapped out my VBP setup this year with the ridetech stuff, just for the hell of it. The car really grabs the corners and has a plush ride when in cruise mode. And it has that cool factor when viewed from the rear.

Thanks info I was looking for. Was the coilover setup worth the money if you are not racing autox. Can you also run a 18x10 in rear without offset ta

Our complete coilover kit for the C3 Corvette will suit your needs perfectly. We spent quite a bit of time fine tuning this kit to make it handle like a new Corvette. Our package contains front upper and lower control arms, tall spindles, billet steering arms, inner and outer tie rods, front MuscleBar, rear trailing arms and 4 HQ Series Coilovers (that come with our 1,000,0001 mile warranty).

· The Upper StrongArms feature corrected ball joint angles for the tall spindles. The upper ball joint have been moved back to allow for additional caster setting to improve high speed stability and steering feel. Offset slugs are also available for additional caster. Injection molded Delrin bushings with 13% Teflon are used to reduce deflection and stiction.

· Lower StrongArmsfeature a double sheer lower mount for increased strength. We have also dropped the lower shock mount to increase suspension travel and moved the lower ball joint forward to increase caster settings while keeping the wheel centered in the wheel opening. Injection molded Delrin bushings with 13% Teflon are used to reduce deflection and stiction.

· The TruTurnSystem includes tall spindles which induce more negative camber gain to maximize tire contact patch during cornering. It also include billet aluminum steering arms, center link adapter, tie rods and adjusters to virtually eliminate bumpsteer, correct Ackerman angle and allow for wider tires. This spindle is designed for use with 1967-1969 Camaro brake systems. Use Coversion kit part # 11529595 to utilize stock Corvette brakes.

· HQ Series CoilOversutilize an impact forged aluminum body and Monotube design to deliver excellent ride quality and handling. They allow fine tuning of the ride quality and handling the rebound **** is located at the top of the shock for under hood access. They come standard with a 1,000,0001 Mile Warranty.

· The Front MucleBar is a splined design and helps reduce body roll and creates room for wider front tires. It includes the PosiLink endlinks that provide immediate engagement between the chassis and control arms.

· The Rear StrongArms are offset for increased tire clearance and are fabricated into a truss design for maximium strength and minimum weight. They feature R-Joint rod ends at the front mounting point to reduce stiction and roll bind. Also incorporated is the adjustable coilover mount, conveniently locating them behind the axle for easy adjustments. The upper coilover crossmember simply bolts in place of the stock cross member. The strut rods are outfitting with R-Joint rod ends to combine the best qualities of low friction movement, lateral stability, full range articulation, and quiet operation into one special bearing that is as home on the street as it is on the racetrack!
