Default help

I am new to CorvetteForum. I own a 1974 C3. I have 2" offset trailing arms and want to place 19"/325 wheels/tires on rear and 18"/255 on front. Am having trouble finding wheels at a reasonable price. I don't have five thousand dollars right now after doing a full frame off restore. Any suggestions that can get me by until I save some more $? I want to drive it this Summer. Thanks. Dan

Hey Dan. I am assuming you are aware of the ride quality that will result in using those sizes of rims. You'll feel every imperfection of the road and to me that's a big trade off for increased cornering grip. That being said, have you considered getting a used set of rims off a C6. They'll be cheaper and much better quality than the Chinese rims you'd buy new. I bet there's plenty of nice sets out there, check out the C6 parts for sale section.

Thanks. I will check some out. I got a note from Carid that I could not do that stagger on my C3? I wrote back....WHY? No response yet.

I will put 8" on front with 11.5" on the rear. Carid said I could not do that stagger on my C3 1974? Wrote back to question why but no response yet. Dan

No flares, I don't think I have seen 11.5" on a stock body car.

I see no problem with 8x18 with 255 tires in the front.
How are you going to go 3.5" wider than stock in the rear with a 2" offset arm?
have you mocked this up to see if you actually have room on the outside?

Do you have flares? I have 9.5" wide, 5.05" backspace wheels on the rear (and front too), and believe I could fit a 10.5" wide, ~5.5" backspace wheel, no way an 11.5" wide wheel would fit on my car without flares (or sticking out past the guard) or chassis rail modifications.

I have three inch flares on the rear. I have measured the distance with 325's and have a half inch clearance.
